Wey 05
The Wey 05 is a mid-size premium plug-in hybrid SUV, sold in China as the Coffee 01, and already on sale in parts of Europe, genuinely the most Europe-relevant model in the current Wey range. It’s built to compete directly with the Audi Q5 and BMW X3 on price, while undercutting both by a meaningful margin.
A 2.0 litre turbocharged petrol engine pairs with two electric motors for a combined 476hp and all-wheel drive, enough for a 0 to 62mph time of around 5.0 seconds. Electric-only range is a modest 146 miles WLTP, though independent testing found closer to 121 miles in real-world conditions. Standard equipment is generous by premium SUV standards, heated and ventilated seats, ambient lighting and a full driver assistance suite are all included rather than sitting on an options list.
The Wey 05 is priced from around β¬55,900 in Germany, roughly Β£48,700 converted. It has not launched in the UK, and no UK price or launch date has been announced.
