Chery Tiggo 7
The Chery Tiggo 7 was one of two models that launched Chery’s own name in the UK in June 2026, a five-seat family SUV sized to compete with the Nissan Qashqai and Kia Sportage, priced around 20% below them. Chery has called the plug-in hybrid version “the most affordable plug-in hybrid on the market”, a deliberate pitch at buyers who want electrified running costs without the premium price tag.
Two powertrains are offered. The entry petrol version uses a 1.6 litre turbocharged engine producing 145 hp, paired with a seven-speed twin-clutch automatic gearbox, reaching 62 mph in 9.4 seconds. The Super Hybrid plug-in version adds electric motors and a battery on top of the same engine for a genuinely usable electric-only range alongside the convenience of a petrol backup, positioning it as the value option in a class where plug-in hybrids often carry a significant premium over their petrol equivalents.
The Chery Tiggo 7 starts from £24,995 for the petrol version, rising to £29,995 for the Super Hybrid plug-in version. Every Tiggo 7 comes with a 7 year vehicle warranty.
