Ora 03

The Ora 03, originally launched in the UK as the Ora Funky Cat, was a small electric hatchback with a deliberately retro design, built to compete with cars like the Volkswagen ID.3 and the MG4. It was renamed Ora 03 partway through its life to align with GWM’s wider model naming strategy across its brands.

Two battery options were offered. The smaller pack gave an official WLTP range of around 193 miles, while the larger battery stretched that to as much as 260 miles. A 169 hp motor gave a 0 to 62 mph time of 8.2 seconds, adequate rather than exciting, in keeping with the car’s focus on value and equipment rather than outright performance.

GWM withdrew the Ora 03 from UK sale in April 2026 after around four years on the market, as part of a wider European strategy reset. It’s no longer possible to order one new, though GWM continues to support existing owners through its UK dealer network for servicing, repairs and parts.
