Skywell is a considerably younger and smaller name than most of the Chinese brands on this site, formed in 2017 as a joint venture between Skyworth, a Chinese conglomerate better known in Britain for its televisions, and the Nanjing Golden Dragon Bus Company, an established maker of buses and commercial vehicles. That mixed heritage, consumer electronics on one side, heavy vehicle engineering on the other, is unusual among Chinese car brands entering the UK, most of which trace back to established passenger car manufacturers rather than a TV maker and a bus builder.

Skywell Overview
Skywell’s first UK model, the Skywell BE11 electric SUV, was unveiled to British buyers at the Everything Electric Show in Harrogate before deliveries began in March 2025. It’s distributed in the UK by Innovation Automotive, and the brand has been steadily building out its dealer network since, with an initial target of around 50 dealers by the end of 2025. Unlike some of the larger, better-funded Chinese entrants to the UK, Skywell has kept its ambitions comparatively modest so far, currently selling just the one model here, though it has said a smaller electric hatchback, an executive saloon and a commercial van are all planned to follow.
Every Skywell sold in the UK comes with a 7 year, 100,000 mile vehicle warranty and an 8 year, 155,000 mile battery warranty, among the more generous cover offered by any manufacturer selling in Britain, alongside up to 10 years of free roadside assistance for customers who service their car at a Skywell dealer.
