Trumpchi M8
The Trumpchi M8 is a full-size seven-seat MPV, in production since 2017, originally launched as the GM8 before being renamed M8 in 2020, and sold internationally as the GN8. A fully redesigned second generation arrived in 2022, and the range has since expanded to include hybrid and plug-in hybrid versions.
The current M8 offers a 2.0 litre turbocharged engine, with plug-in hybrid versions pairing it with an electric motor for a combined output and genuinely useful electric-only range for short trips. Standard equipment leans toward executive comfort, reflecting the M8’s positioning as a premium people-carrier rather than a purely practical family vehicle, with seating configurations aimed at chauffeured or VIP use in some markets.
The Trumpchi M8 starts from around 192,800 yuan in China, roughly £21,100 converted, for the combustion version, with plug-in hybrid trims pricing higher. It has not launched in the UK, and remains focused on China and select export markets.
