Tank 300
The Tank 300 is the model that started the whole Tank brand, a body-on-frame off-road SUV originally launched in 2020 as part of GWM’s WEY range before becoming popular enough to be spun off into its own standalone brand the following year. It’s already sold in genuine right-hand-drive form in markets including Australia, where two examples were spotted testing in Melbourne ahead of a local launch, and Malaysia.
A wide spread of powertrains is offered: petrol, hybrid, a 2.4 litre turbo-diesel shared with GWM’s Cannon pickup range, and, more recently, a plug-in hybrid using a 2.0 litre turbo engine paired with a 37.11kWh battery for around 71 miles of electric-only range and a combined range of roughly 593 miles. Power spans 220 to 300hp depending on variant, with all versions using a part-time four-wheel-drive system with selectable low-range gearing, Crawl Mode, and Turning Assist for tight off-road manoeuvring. Boot space runs from 360 litres up to 1,635 litres with the rear seats folded.
The Tank 300 has not launched in the UK. In right-hand-drive markets like Australia, pricing has run from around AU$46,000 to AU$62,000 depending on trim and powertrain, roughly £24,000 to £32,000 converted, though UK pricing, if and when it arrives, would likely differ.
