Lynk & Co 01
The Lynk & Co 01 was the brand’s first model and remains its European entry point, a compact SUV built on the same CMA platform as the Volvo XC40, on sale in China since 2017 and across several European markets since 2020. No trim levels are offered, buyers simply choose between two powertrains and a colour, a deliberately simplified approach compared with most rivals’ sprawling option lists.
Both versions use a 1.5 litre three-cylinder petrol engine. The standard hybrid pairs it with a small 1.8kWh battery for WLTP CO2 emissions of 150g/km, while the plug-in hybrid steps up to a 17.6kWh battery for around 43 miles of electric-only range and WLTP emissions of just 27g/km. Standard equipment includes a large central touchscreen, built-in sat-nav, a “social media camera” for capturing footage while driving, and an interior trimmed partly in a material made from recycled fishing nets.
In Germany, the plug-in hybrid 01 costs around €46,000 to buy outright, or can be accessed via a monthly subscription from roughly €500 to €550 covering insurance and maintenance. The Lynk & Co 01 has not launched in the UK, and no UK date has been confirmed.
