NIO ET5 Touring
The NIO ET5 Touring is the estate version of the standard ET5 saloon, and has been on sale in mainland Europe since July 2023, considerably longer than most of the Chinese brands covered on this site have been active there at all. It’s aimed at cars like the Porsche Taycan Sport Turismo and BMW’s forthcoming i5 Touring, genuinely striking rather than a conventional load-lugger.
Two battery options are offered, a 75kWh Standard Range and a 100kWh Long Range, both paired with dual electric motors producing a combined 490hp, enough for 0-62mph in around 4.0 seconds. Like every NIO, the ET5 Touring supports the brand’s signature battery-swap technology, letting owners exchange a depleted battery for a full one in minutes at a swap station rather than waiting to charge, an option that also allows a lower upfront price with a monthly battery subscription instead.
In Germany, the NIO ET5 Touring starts from β¬59,500 for the Standard Range, rising to β¬68,500 for the Long Range. It has not launched in the UK, and no UK price or launch date has been announced, though NIO has confirmed the standard ET5 saloon as one of its priority UK models.
