Yangwang U7
The Yangwang U7 is the brand’s entry point, a luxury sedan pitched as offering much of the U8 and U9’s technology at roughly half the price of either, using the same e4 individual-wheel motor technology and a version of BYD’s DiSus-Z active suspension system. It’s positioned to eventually rival cars like the Tesla Model S and full-size German luxury saloons once it reaches markets beyond China.
Chinese testing puts the U7’s range at over 435 miles on a full charge, drawing on the same Blade Battery technology used across BYD’s wider range, and the 2026 model year update brought DiSus-A+ intelligent air suspension for a further improvement in ride comfort, an area luxury buyers weigh particularly heavily.
The Yangwang U7 starts from 658,000 yuan in China, around £72,000 converted, comfortably the most affordable route into the Yangwang brand. It has not launched in the UK, with BYD targeting a UK entry for the wider Yangwang brand in 2027.
