Yangwang U8L

The Yangwang U8L is a genuinely stretched, even more lavish take on the standard U8, built on the same underlying e4 platform and DiSus-P intelligent body control system, but longer, wider and considerably more expensive. It officially launched in September 2025 as a six-seat flagship, before Yangwang added an even more exclusive four-seat version, the Dingcang Edition, in 2026, positioned above the six-seat car rather than replacing it.

The standard six-seat Dingshi Edition uses a 2+2+2 layout with genuinely elaborate second-row seating, zero-gravity recline, massage functions, headrest speakers and folding tables among them, inside a cabin Yangwang quotes at 5.3 cubic metres, among the largest of any mainstream luxury SUV. The newer four-seat Dingcang Edition strips that down to just two rows of executive-level seating instead, prioritising space and privacy over outright capacity. Both share the same underlying hardware as the standard U8: four independent electric motors, a 2.0 litre turbocharged petrol engine acting purely as a range extender, and the same repertoire of genuinely unusual party tricks, tank turns, crab walking, and the ability to float on water in an emergency.

The Yangwang U8L starts from 1,280,000 yuan for the six-seat Dingshi Edition, around £139,900 converted, with the newer four-seat Dingcang Edition starting considerably higher, from roughly $215,587, around £171,000 converted. It has not launched outside China, and like the rest of the Yangwang range, is expected to reach Europe from 2027 at the earliest, following Denza.
