Li Auto i6
The Li Auto i6 is a genuinely significant model for the brand, its first pure electric SUV without a range-extender petrol engine at all, and the car now leading Li Auto’s push into Europe. Launched in China in September 2025 as a five-seat mid-size SUV, it’s positioned to compete directly with the Tesla Model Y, Xiaomi YU7, NIO ES6 and XPeng G6 domestically, and against the BMW iX3, Mercedes GLC and Volvo EX60 once it reaches Europe. At 4,950mm long, it sits in exactly the size bracket UK buyers already know well.
Both versions use an 87.3kWh CATL LFP battery on an 800-volt platform with 5C charging support, good for up to 500km of range added in just 10 minutes at a suitably powerful charger. The rear-wheel-drive version produces 340hp for a CLTC range of 720km and 0 to 62mph in 6.5 seconds, while the dual-motor all-wheel-drive version steps up to a combined 536hp, cutting that to 4.5 seconds, though CLTC range drops slightly to 660km as a result. The cabin leans on the same family-focused philosophy as Li Auto’s existing range-extender models, dual-chamber air suspension, generous cargo space, and a full suite of driver assistance hardware.
The i6 starts from 249,800 yuan in China, around Β£27,300 converted, rising to 277,800 yuan for the best-equipped all-wheel-drive version. It’s confirmed to launch in Europe during the fourth quarter of 2026, debuting at the Paris Motor Show that October, with a right-hand-drive version explicitly confirmed as part of that expansion. The UK hasn’t been officially named as a launch market yet, but with no UK-specific tariff on Chinese EVs (unlike the EU’s additional duties), it’s widely being described as a strong candidate. Nothing is confirmed for pricing, timing or a dealer network here yet.
