NIO ET5
The NIO ET5 is the brand’s entry point in Europe, a midsize electric saloon positioned directly against the Tesla Model 3 and the BMW i4. Despite being NIO’s smallest and most affordable car, it’s still a genuinely substantial 4.8 metres long, reflecting NIO’s belief that premium car makers shouldn’t drop below a certain size or price point.
Two battery options are offered in the European market, giving a WLTP range of between roughly 270 and 350 miles depending on configuration. The cabin leans heavily on NIO’s software driven approach, with a floating central touchscreen and the brand’s NT2.0 operating system running the show, alongside NIO’s battery swap compatibility for owners near a swap station.
The ET5 is currently sold in a handful of European markets including Germany and Austria, where pricing starts from around β¬59,500. It has not launched in the UK, and no UK pricing, specification or launch date has been confirmed.
