NIO EL6
The NIO EL6 is the brand’s mid-size electric SUV, built on the same underlying platform as the ET5 saloon and positioned against premium electric SUVs like the Audi Q8 e-tron. It launched alongside the ET5 Touring estate as part of NIO’s push to broaden its European lineup beyond its original two saloons.
A dual motor setup produces up to 483 hp, giving a 0 to 62 mph time of around 4.5 seconds, genuinely brisk for a family sized SUV. WLTP range sits at around 300 miles, and the cabin offers 668 litres of boot space, extending to 1,430 litres with the rear seats folded, making it a genuinely practical option alongside its performance.
The EL6 is currently sold in Denmark, Germany, the Netherlands and Sweden, among other European markets, but has not launched in the UK. Given NIO’s general approach elsewhere, an SUV like the EL6 is considered a reasonably likely candidate to lead any future UK launch, though nothing has been confirmed.
