Geely Galaxy is Geely‘s own mainstream new-energy sub-brand, distinct from the more premium Zeekr, aimed squarely at high-volume family buyers with aggressively priced hybrid and electric sedans and SUVs. It’s become a genuine sales phenomenon since launching, Geely Galaxy sold a record 120,868 vehicles in a single month in September 2025, and has consistently moved 60,000 to 120,000 cars monthly through 2026, holding around 4.5% of the entire Chinese car market on its own.

The range spans the E5 electric SUV and a growing family of “Starshine” hybrid sedans, all built around Geely’s newer Leishen AI Hybrid and Thor hybrid technology, and running Geely’s own Flyme Auto smart cockpit software. Pricing has been a central weapon, the Starshine 6 launched at just 68,800 yuan after discounts, positioning it as one of the most affordable family sedans sold in China.
The Galaxy name itself will likely never reach UK showrooms, regardless of how the sub-brand performs, Ford already holds the trademark rights to “Galaxy” in the UK and Europe, thanks to its own long-running Galaxy minivan. In practice, this means Galaxy-badged products get rebadged under the plain Geely name when they’re exported here instead. It’s already happened once: the Geely Galaxy E5 covered on this page is the exact same car sold in the UK as the Geely EX5, just under a different badge. Beyond that one model, Geely Galaxy as a distinct brand has not launched outside China, and no wider international plans have been announced.
