XPeng

The brand arrived in the UK relatively recently, first showing its G6 electric SUV at the Goodwood Festival of Speed in July 2024 before officially going on sale in March 2025, in partnership with International Motors, the distribution group also behind GWM Ora, Isuzu and Subaru in Britain. XPeng chose the UK deliberately as a strategic market, noting that Britain became Europe’s largest EV market in 2024 and represents one of the most significant right hand drive markets in the world.

Globally, XPeng has grown quickly. By the time it launched in the UK, the company had delivered more than 620,000 electric vehicles worldwide, and a panel of UK car dealers surveyed on which new entrants were most likely to succeed in Britain ranked XPeng’s chances the highest of any newcomer. The G6 was updated significantly for 2026, with XPeng describing more than 20,000 incremental changes aimed at improving how the car drives, alongside new battery technology capable of charging from 10 to 80 percent in as little as 12 minutes.

For now, the XPeng G6 remains XPeng’s only model actually on sale in the UK, though that’s set to change. The brand has confirmed plans to bring its flagship G9 SUV to Britain, expected toward the end of 2026, alongside other models from its wider lineup including the P7 saloon and the seven seat X9 MPV, as part of what XPeng’s UK sales director has called a defining moment for the brand’s growth here. XPeng is also developing an AI defined vehicle platform, first previewed through the P7+, that it says will underpin future models across the range.

Vehicles sold in the UK are built in China and shipped as complete right hand drive units. As XPeng’s UK dealer network expands into cities including London, Birmingham, Manchester, Bristol and Edinburgh, the brand’s presence here looks set to grow well beyond the single model currently available.
