Leapmotor B05
The Leapmotor B05 is a family-sized electric hatchback and the brand’s fourth model in the UK, arriving in July 2026 to sit alongside the T03, B10 and C10. It’s built on Leapmotor’s LEAP 3.5 platform and, unusually for a car at this price, it’s rear-wheel drive, with a claimed 50:50 weight distribution and a multi-link rear suspension tuned for European roads.
A single 67.1kWh battery is offered, built into the car’s structure using Leapmotor’s Cell-to-Chassis design, giving up to 300 miles of WLTP range. DC charging peaks at 174kW, enough for a 30 to 80 percent top-up in around 17 minutes, with 11kW AC charging fitted as standard. The rear motor produces 218PS (215hp) and 240Nm, with a 0-62mph time of 6.7 seconds when launch control is used. Boot space is 345 litres, rising to 1,400 litres with the rear seats folded.
Leapmotor keeps things simple in the UK, with a single, very well equipped trim that includes a panoramic roof, a 12-speaker sound system, wireless phone charging, powered front seats and 21 driver assistance systems. The Leapmotor B05 is priced at £30,495 on the road, or £28,995 after Leapmotor’s own £1,500 LEAP-GRANT, which the brand funds itself, as the car doesn’t qualify for the government’s Electric Car Grant.
