Leapmotor D19
The Leapmotor D19 is the brand’s genuine flagship, a full-size luxury SUV built to take on the BMW X7 and Mercedes-Benz GLS, cars costing several times its price. It made its global debut in October 2025 before officially launching in China in April 2026, and represents what Leapmotor describes as the culmination of a decade of technical development since the brand was founded.
Two versions are offered. The fully electric variant uses a tri-motor all-wheel-drive setup and a genuinely enormous 115kWh battery for a combined 724hp and up to 447 miles of range. A range-extender version instead pairs a 1.5 litre turbocharged petrol engine with a smaller 80.3kWh battery and dual electric motors, producing 536hp with up to 311 miles of electric-only range on the CLTC cycle. At just over 5.25 metres long, it’s a genuinely substantial car, roughly the same length as the BMW X7 it’s aimed at.
The Leapmotor D19 has launched in China, though pricing details specific to this model were not confirmed in initial reporting. It has not launched in the UK, and no UK price or launch date has been announced, though Leapmotor’s existing UK partnership with Stellantis makes European expansion plausible over time.
