Leapmotor C10 Hybrid EV
The Leapmotor C10 Hybrid EV takes the standard electric C10 and adds a small petrol engine that works purely as an onboard generator, never directly driving the wheels, a setup commonly called a range extender or REEV. The idea is to combine the smooth, quiet driving experience of an electric car with the reassurance of a petrol powered backup for longer journeys.
The same 158 kW, 215 hp electric motor does all the actual driving, fed by a 28.4 kWh battery topped up either by plugging in or by the onboard 1.5 litre generator. Combined, Leapmotor claims a total range of up to 602 miles, alongside a WLTP fuel economy figure of 942mpg once the battery’s electric range is accounted for.
Pricing matches the standard electric C10, and the Hybrid EV carries the same 4 year, 60,000 mile vehicle warranty and 8 year, 100,000 mile battery warranty as the rest of the range. It’s aimed squarely at buyers who like the idea of an EV but aren’t yet ready to rely entirely on public charging for longer trips.
