Omoda E5
The Omoda E5 is the fully electric sibling of the Omoda 5, sharing the same body and general styling but built around a dedicated electric powertrain rather than an adapted petrol platform. It launched in the UK alongside the Omoda 5 in May 2024, as one of the brand’s first two models sold in Britain.
A single 150 kW motor drives the front wheels, producing the equivalent of around 201 hp and a 0 to 62 mph time of 7.6 seconds. Power comes from a 61 kWh Blade battery, a lithium iron phosphate design also used by other manufacturers for its durability, giving a WLTP range of up to 257 miles. DC rapid charging tops out at 80 kW, enough for a 30 to 80 percent top up in around 28 minutes.
Like the rest of the range, the Omoda E5 comes with Omoda’s 7 year, 100,000 mile warranty, with the battery itself covered for 8 years. It remains a straightforward, no frills option for buyers wanting an affordable family sized electric SUV without chasing the longest possible range.
