Omoda 7
The Omoda 7 sits above the Omoda 5 in the lineup, a larger family SUV that went on sale in the UK in January 2026 aimed directly at cars like the Volkswagen Tiguan, Kia Sportage and Hyundai Tucson. Where it differs from most of its rivals is price, undercutting comparably equipped versions of those cars by a considerable margin.
Omoda calls its plug in hybrid setup the Super Hybrid System, combining a 1.5 litre turbo petrol engine with an 18.4 kWh battery for a combined 204 hp and a 0 to 62 mph time of 8.4 seconds. Electric only range is rated at up to 56 miles, enough for many daily commutes without the petrol engine ever needing to start, and once the battery is depleted the car simply carries on as a conventional hybrid.
Reviewers have generally rated the Omoda 7 as the most complete car Omoda has produced so far, with a genuinely spacious interior and strong standard equipment across both trim levels. It’s backed by the same 7 year, 100,000 mile warranty as the rest of the range, with the battery covered for an additional year.
