BYD Atto 2
The BYD Atto 2 is a compact SUV sitting below the Atto 3 in BYD’s UK range, filling the gap left when the Atto 3 was pushed slightly upmarket. It’s offered in the UK with two entirely different powertrains: a fully electric version, and a newer plug-in hybrid DM-i variant that undercuts it on price.
The electric Atto 2 uses a 49.9kWh battery for around 260 miles of WLTP range, with 60kW DC charging. The DM-i version pairs a 1.5 litre petrol engine with an electric motor, offering up to 55 miles of electric-only running in its higher Boost trim and a combined range as high as 621 miles between the battery and a full tank. Both share BYD’s usual generous standard equipment, including Google Built-In on a 12.8-inch touchscreen regardless of version.
The BYD Atto 2 EV starts from £30,850 in the UK, rising to £34,950 for the Comfort trim. The newer Atto 2 DM-i undercuts both, starting from £26,995 for the Active trim and £29,995 for Boost, all prices on the road.
