BYD Seal
The BYD Seal is BYD’s mid-size electric saloon, first launched in the UK in 2023 and updated for 2026 with extra technology, more storage and new paint options while keeping its pricing unchanged. It’s built on BYD’s e-Platform 3.0, shared with the Atto 3 and Dolphin, and was the first of BYD’s UK models to switch to a rear-wheel-drive layout as standard.
Both trims use the same 82.5 kWh Blade Battery. The rear-wheel-drive Design produces 308 hp for a 0 to 62 mph time of 5.9 seconds and the longest range in the lineup at up to 354 miles WLTP. The all-wheel-drive Excellence adds a second motor for a combined 523 hp, cutting 0 to 62 mph to 3.8 seconds, with range dropping slightly to 323 miles due to the extra weight and power draw.
Standard equipment is generous throughout, including a panoramic sunroof, a 15.6 inch rotating touchscreen and a 12 speaker Dynaudio sound system. Every Seal comes with BYD’s 6 year, 93,750 mile warranty, with the battery covered separately for up to 8 years or 155,350 miles.
