BYD Seal 6 DM-i
The BYD Seal 6 DM-i is BYD’s first plug-in hybrid saloon in the UK, and it’s also sold as the Seal 6 DM-i Touring, BYD’s first estate car in Europe. Unlike the fully electric BYD Seal, it uses BYD’s DM-i Super Hybrid system, in which the electric motor does most of the driving and the petrol engine mainly acts as a generator. Customer deliveries began in December 2025.
Two versions of the system are offered. The Boost pairs a 10.08kWh battery with 135kW (181hp) and gives the longest combined range, up to 935 miles in the saloon and 839 miles in the Touring. The Comfort uses a 19kWh battery and 156kW (209hp), extending electric-only range to 65 miles in the saloon and 62 miles in the Touring, and it can also use public DC chargers at up to 26kW. The Touring has a 500 litre boot, rising to 1,535 litres with the rear seats folded.
The Seal 6 DM-i saloon costs £33,990 in Boost and £36,990 in Comfort. The Touring costs £1,000 more, at £34,990 and £37,990, all on the road.
